North Korean Missile Threats Towards US

Bomb threats have been made towards the United States by North Korea because of accusations towards the United States that they have been pushing North Korea to the “brink of war.”  We now know that Pyongyang could be planning a missile launch, and it is unbeknown to us whether it is a test or a strike.

“We are trying to turn the volume down,” a Defense Department official said in response to their stance on the threats.

Obama is trying to push a method of peace as an alternative to North Korea’s plans of violence towards us and South Korea. It is not in North Korea’s best interests to start a war they cannot win. National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden said, “Threats and provocative actions will not bring North Korea the security, international respect, and economic development it seeks.”.

We have just discovered that North Korea has moved a medium-range missile to its east coast for a supposed military drill. South Korean Defense Minister Kim Kwan-jin said the missile does not appear to be aimed towards the United States, according to the semi-official South Korean news agency Yonhap.

On Wednesday, the United States announced that they plan to move missile defenses to Guam, home to United States naval and air bases. But, it has been found that North Korea has listed this base as a possible target for an attack.

Responses from the United States have been said to be causing more tension between North Korea, as one Defense Department official said, “We accused the North Koreans of amping things up, now we are worried we did the same thing.”

A statement has been written by a spokesman for the National Peace Committee of Korea and it states, “Cutting-edge weapons are not a monopoly of the U.S. and gone are the days never to return when it could invade other countries with nukes as it pleased,” the statement said. “The U.S. and the South Korean warmongers had better stop their rash actions, deeply aware of the gravity of the prevailing situation.”
